The 49ers are trying to trade Brandon Marshall for a top-five pick, according to league sources.
The 49ers have reportedly been trying to add Brandon Marshall and others to their roster to bolster a receiving corps that is getting worse.
But sources tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Niners are more interested in trading the 6-foot-1, 200-pound receiver.
The sources told Schefter there are at least four teams that would be willing to trade for Marshall, including the Cowboys, the Los Angeles Rams and the Atlanta Falcons.
The 49er’s current roster is built around running back Frank Gore, linebacker NaVorro Bowman and defensive end Aaron Lynch.
The Niners currently have eight receivers on the roster.
Marshall, who signed a two-year, $18.5 million deal with the Nines last week, is the only one of those.
The team is also reportedly trying to get a deal done for safety Eric Reid, who was released by the Bears last week.
Marshall would be a nice addition for the Ninets secondary.
