Recode is reporting that WeChat, the China-based social media company, is a “giant” of social network social media and it’s getting bigger every day.
Facebook had 5.3 billion active users as of February, followed by Twitter at 5.4 billion, LinkedIn at 5 billion and WeChat at 4.7 billion.
WeChat’s userbase is “significantly larger than Facebook and Twitter’s combined,” according to Recodes numbers.
Recode reports that the company’s user base in China has grown to 9.6 billion.
It also has an annual revenue of $9 billion, according to an estimate from Strategy Analytics.
It’s currently the No. 1 social media network in China, according a report from China Daily.
Recodes figures show that Wechat is one of the largest social media companies in the world.
In the United States, Facebook is at number one with 1.5 billion users.
Twitter has 5.7 million users, LinkedIn has 2.7 millions and Facebook has 1.9 million.
Weibo has 6 million users.
